LES SHERIFF
(Punk Rock - Montpellier)
Formé à Montpellier en 1984 sous le nom de Vonn (mais rapidement rebaptisés Les Sheriff) avec Manu à la batterie et compositeur, Olivier au chant et auteur, Fred à la guitare et Michel à la basse, le combo s'élargit à 5 en 1990 avec l'arrivée d'un second guitariste, Fab. Du milieu des années 1980 à celui des années 1990, les Sheriff font partie des groupes importants du paysage punk français, à l'instar de la Mano Negra, Parabellum, Ludwig von 88 ou encore OTH, autre groupe montpelliérain. L'apogée du groupe est avec leur album "Soleil de plomb". Ils se faisaient remarquer par leurs chansons rapides, aux riffs mélodiques et à l'humour décapant. Avec leurs textes particulièrement simplistes, leurs chansons étaient faciles à retenir et à chanter. Sur scène, ils étaient réputés pour jouer fort et vite, enchaînant souvent trente-cinq morceaux sans véritablement s'arrêter. Ils annonçaient souvent la couleur en se présentant ainsi sur scène : « On est les Sheriff et on fait du bruit ». Les Sheriff se séparent en 1998, 2 ans après leur ultime album "Electrochoc". Pour les 15 ans de l’association " Tout A Fond", les Sheriff se reforment pour un concert exceptionnel à l’Espace Rock du Parc de Grammont à Montpellier en juin 2012.

Formed in Montpellier in 1984 under the name of Vonn (but quickly renamed The Sheriff) Manu on drums and composer Olivier singing and author Fred on guitar and Michael on bass, the band expands to 5 in 1990 with the arrival of a second guitarist, Fab. From the mid 1980s to the 1990s, the Sheriff are part of large groups of French punk landscape, like Mano Negra, Parabellum, Ludwig von 88 or OTH, another group from Montpellier. The climax of the group with their album "Soleil de plomb". They were noted for their fast songs, melodic riffs and caustic humor. With their texts particularly simplistic, their songs were easy to remember and sing. On stage, they were known for playing hard and fast, often linking thirty-five pieces without really stopping. They announced the color often appearing on stage as well: "It is the Sheriff and makes noise." The Sheriff separated in 1998, two years after their last album "Electrochoc". For 15 years the association "Tout A Fond", the Sheriff are reformed for a concert at  l’Espace Rock du Parc de Grammont in Montpellier in June 2012.
